If you ever missed a sweet sale bargain at any store you love because you just couldn’t find the time to get to the brick and mortar store, you’ll understand how amazingly useful and convenient mobile shopping can be.

Technology is moving incredibly fast and is consequently having significant effect on the way mobile users are doing their shopping.  Statistics are showing that consumers are using their mobiles for a wide variety of tasks, but what exactly are they using them for? Study group Nielsen took a look at how mobile devices’ are effecting mobile shopping habits and came up with these interesting statistics for smartphones and tablets (as reported by iMobiTrax).

Effect On Mobile Shopping Habits 

Overall, smartphone owners are three times more likely to use their handset for in-store activities, like claiming mobile coupons (39%) or using shopping lists (40%), compared to tablet owners. …
Tablet owners are also more likely to use their devices to research products before making purchases (68%) and for reading online reviews (53%).
